Sandakan War Memorial Park
Located in Sandakan, Sabah, Sandakan Memorial Park (Taman Peringatan Sandakan) stands on the former site of a World War II prisoner-of-war camp. The park commemorates the thousands of Allied POWs who died during the Sandakan Death Marches to Ranau, and also pays tribute to the courage and suffering of the local population during the war.
Surrounded by peaceful gardens and informative displays, the park offers a place for remembrance, reflection, and education. Each year on August 15, the Sandakan Memorial Day service is held here to honor those who lost their lives.

St. Micheal's and All Angels Church
is one of the oldest stone churches in Sabah, located in Sandakan. Built between 1893 and 1925, it showcases beautiful colonial architecture with stained glass windows and solid granite walls.
The church stands as a symbol of resilience, having survived the bombings of World War II.

Sam Sing Kung Temple
Located in the heart of Sandakan, Sam Sing Kung Temple is one of the oldest Chinese temples in Sabah, dating back to 1887. The temple is dedicated to three deities—The Three Saints (Sam Sing Kung), who are revered for protection, health, and wisdom.
With its intricate architecture, vibrant carvings, and historical artifacts, the temple reflects the rich cultural heritage of Sandakan’s early Chinese settlers. It remains an active place of worship and a popular site for both locals and tourists seeking peace, history, and cultural insight.
